Whether It’s For Pumpkin Pie or Sweet Potato Pie, Arriving on Time to Give Thanks

I’m thankful to have dedicated colleagues who are working hard to ensure that a busy holiday season is just as safe as every other day across our national airspace system.

Our technicians, engineers and flight inspection teams have made sure equipment and systems are running properly, and our air traffic controllers are working holiday shifts to see that our travelers get to their destinations safely and efficiently. Our program management, administrative and communications support, all contribute to our preparation for this important travel period as well. Our team at the Command Center has worked with our procedures experts to develop plans to use special routes to avoid bottlenecks in the system.

Thanks to everyone who has prepared for this week, and for the work you do all year.

Whether you indulge in turkey and pie, relax watching football, or work in our airspace to keep it running safely and smoothly on Thanksgiving, I hope you have a terrific holiday. Be careful out there!

Also, please remember that we have an opportunity to give to others in need through the Combined Federal Campaign.

Thanks everyone!
