4th of July
Hi everyone. This 4th of July, many of us will enjoy barbecue, fireworks and some time to relax. As we celebrate, let’s be sure and reflect on the freedoms that we as Americans believe in, such as the right to free speech, free enterprise and the freedom to govern ourselves.
Because of our freedom, we’re able to think big and pursue our dreams. That’s certainly what the Wright Brothers, Charles Lindbergh, Bessie Coleman, Archie League and many other Americans believed. Personally, I’ve always been inspired by something that World War I fighter ace Eddie Rickenbacker said -- “Aviation is proof that, given the will, we have the capacity to achieve the impossible.”
Let’s continue to reaffirm our freedom by pursuing our passions and dreams and contributing to our nation. We’re certainly doing this as ATO professionals. We’ve built the safest, most efficient airspace system in the world. Because of our work, Americans can enjoy the freedom, adventure and commerce that come from flying. In the coming years, we’ll continue to enable American innovation as we work to integrate unmanned aircraft and commercial space operations into the national airspace system.
I want to thank those of you who will be working over the Holiday. Whether you’ll be in an air traffic facility, System Support Center, the Domestic Events Network, the Command Center or other ATO office, you’re helping Americans get where they need to go, safely and securely.
Have a safe and happy 4th!
